What we’re doing

In response to the growing need in the community and the clear mandate of scripture to care for the poor, we started a food pantry. We minister to the needy in our area by providing food and other commodities, in a manner designed to foster their dignity and hope. The food pantry is open to the public, on an appointment basis initially once per week. Appointments will be made by calling a food pantry phone number which will be managed by the team on duty. Grace food pantry is entirely staffed by volunteers.

“He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?" declares the LORD.”

(NIV) Jeremiah 22:16

“If your [Israelite] brother has become poor and his hand wavers [from poverty, sickness, or age and he is unable to support himself], then you shall uphold (strengthen, relieve) him, [treating him with the courtesy and consideration that you would] a stranger or a temporary resident with you [without property], so that he may live [along] with you.”

(AMP) Leviticus 25:35

Give freely and spontaneously. Don't have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers God, your God's, blessing in everything you do, all your work and ventures. There are always going to be poor and needy people among you. So I command you: Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbors in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbors.

(MSG) Deuteronomy 15:10 -11
